Transport data logger extended by climate data, BLE and more memory

Fachpack 2018: ASPION presents for the first time a new generation of its shock sensor G-Log 2

ASPION GmbH presents the new generation of its shock sensor for transport monitoring at Fachpack: In addition to the time-accurate, broken down 6-axis recording of shocks, the G-Log 2 now also logs climate data. The new G-Log 2 transport data logger has a memory volume that is three times larger than that of its little brother G-Log. It is also capable of NFC wireless communication as well as BLE. ASPION presents its smart sensor solutions in hall 3A at booth 3A-552.

Humidity sensor for additional risk protection

The transport data logger G-Log 2 is equipped with a climate sensor for humidity and temperature. It records the exact time when moisture penetrated and this may have led to corrosion damage. "According to Michael Wöhr, "The humidity sensor was a multiple customer request, especially from the machine and plant construction industry, where sensitive, high-precision machines and assemblies are exposed to moisture during transport in addition to shocks. With our G-Log 2, we want to offer our customers a real plus in traceable safety".

Versatile wireless communication with BLE and NFC

The G-Log 2 shock sensor is equipped with a combination of NFC/BLE wireless technology, enabling even more versatile communication. The sensor is written to and commissioned wirelessly via NFC, and the collected data can now be read out via Smartphone App both via NFC and BLE.

Powerful and easy to use

The memory contains a total of 960 events, 3 times as many as its little brother. The battery of the cheque card large, 16 mm high and 35 gram light sensor in ABS housing with IP 40 protection class can be replaced independently by the user. All ASPION data loggers are flexible and can be used in combination. The ergonomic PC software and Smartphone App make them very easy to use and they can be expanded to include cloud, location and network functions.

Detectability even with concealed damage

The G-Log 2 offers event-controlled recording when self-defined threshold values for shocks, temperature and humidity are exceeded. Accelerations are recorded by the sensor in three axes up to ± 24 g each with direction indication, which makes vibrations traceable on millisecond level. The evaluation data can be used to provide customers, service providers and insurance companies with evidence of transport damage that has occurred - even in the case of damage that cannot be detected at first glance.

Hand in hand with customers

"When developing the next generation of our sensor, we wanted to implement as many of our customers' suggestions as possible," says Michael Wöhr, Managing Director of ASPION GmbH. "The detection of humidity, the BLE communication as well as the battery change, which can be carried out by the customer himself, were important further developments for our customers from the machine and plant construction industry".

ASPION will be presenting its smart sensor solutions at Fachpack in Nuremberg from 25-27 September 2018 in Hall 3A, Stand 3A-552.
